Blacksburg, VA — 54 year old Andre Holmes was killed when his own truck rolled over him. It is presumed that Holmes was trying to fix a problem with his truck gears. When he was found dead, he had a flashlight and screwdriver in his hands.

As he was looking for the problem, the police believe he slipped the truck into reverse and killed the owner. After further investigation, it was found that there was a possible defect in the truck gears. Homes was found with a crushed chest and pronounced dead at the scene.

Andre Holmes owned a 2002 Dodge Ram . Dodge and Chryslers both have known problems for the gears switching from Park to Reverse. There have been multiple case where this has occurred and resulted in car accidents, injuries and death.

Cars, trucks and other vehicles are supposed to be safe. We use these things in our daily lives. We transport our family, friends and loved ones. If our vehicles are not safe, there is a problem. If car companies know something is wrong with a vehicle and do not demand a recall they are to blame. Unneeded death because of something as simple as a car switching gears by itself is unacceptable.
