CarFit event offered seniors a lesson on driving safely
On Thursday Carfit offered local seniors a free car fitting at AAA Tidewater Virginia’s Corporate Center. More then 25 seniors participated this 20 minute safety lesson. Seniors were walked through a 12-point safety checklist. This checklist included: adjusting their headrest, adjusting their steering wheel, and examined their lights and tires and more.
In 2008, 16,000 motor vehicle accidents in Virginia involved seniors and 7% of those were fatal, according to a Carfit news release from AAA Tidewater Virginia.
