Early Saturday Morning Fatal Crash on Military Highway

An early Saturday morning crash took two lives and injured two others.  In a two car crash on North Military Highway, Michael Hall, 20, and Laura Etzell, 21, died at the scene, said Officer Chris Amos, a police spokesman.

According to a preliminary investigation, Hall, Etzell and a third person were in an Acura crossing North Military Highway on Johnstons Road shortly before 2 a.m., Amos said. A Hyundai traveling south on the highway ran a red light and struck them, he said.

The third passenger in the Acura’s was in the hospital in critical condition Saturday afternoon, Amos said. The Hyundai’s driver was treated for not life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but speed and alcohol may have been involved, Amos said.
