Fatal car accident in Newport News injuries four and kills one

One man died and four others were injured after a truck smashed into oncoming traffic about 4 p.m. Friday in Newport News, according to a news release.
Witnesses told police that the driver, James Campbell, of a Ford F-150 truck was slumped over his steering wheel as his vehicle traveled and went into the path of oncoming traffic.
The truck sideswiped a van and struck two cars, the release said. Another vehicle crashed into one of the other cars.
All five drivers were taken to an area hospital and treated for injuries.
Campbell, 70, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
