Fatal car crash takes three lives and injures three passengers

Three people are dead and four others injured after a single-car crash on Route 55, according to State Police.
Police say the crash happened Sunday afternoon, when the driver, Robert Louer, of an SUV carrying seven family members ran off the road and then struck a tree.
Edward Nichols III, 64, of Purcellville died in the crash along with his wife, 63-year-old Karen Nichols, and 90-year-old Doris Louer. Three passengers and the driver, Robert Louer of FL were injured and taken to hospitals. There was no information on their injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said in a statement that everyone in the vehicle was wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
