Two People killed in a crash on Granby Street Sunday Morning

Date: July 26, 2009
Location: Norfolk, VA
Type: Fatal Crash – Speeding

Police say speed was a factor in the single-car crash that killed a man and woman and injuried three other people.

Cameron Richardson, 25, of Chesapeake and Lauren Kok, 22, of Staten Island, NY, were identified by police Sunday morning as the victims of the deadly crash. Richardson was a passenger in the front and Kok was a passenger in the back seat, said Karen Parker-Chesson, a Police Department spokeswoman.

The driver ran off the road into a tree in the median in front of Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center on Granby Street. Police have not released the speed of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The name of the driver or the other two passengers in the BMW were not released by the police.
