Jim Hurley, Esq.

I decided to become a lawyer to help people. After receiving my undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, I graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan in 1990. I received my degree Cum Laude and finished 10th in my class of 143. I am licensed to practice law in all appropriate Courts.

I have practiced law since 1991. Since 1993, I have helped people that have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. Although I have settled many cases for my clients, I also have had to litigate many cases throughout the State of Virginia.  At Cooper Hurley, we are firm believers that you must be prepared to litigate a case to protect our clients rights.

During my career, I have tried approximately 100 jury trials as well as being involved in hundreds of litigation matters that settled before trial. Not only have I litigated these cases, I also spend extensive time with my clients to prepare them for trial. As a trial lawyer, it is one of my most important jobs to be sure my client understands the litigation process so that they can tell the juries their stories of how their injuries changed their lives.

Besides these jury trials, I have tried hundreds of cases in front of various Judges in Virginia. I have tried and argued cases both in State and Federal Court.

I use this extensive experience to help my clients get a good result for the injuries they have suffered in car, truck or motorcycle accidents. During the last few years, I have narrowed my practice to almost exclusively representing people that are injured in auto, truck or motorcycle accidents.

I am a member of American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Virginia State Bar Association and Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association.

At Cooper Hurley, our job is to take care of all of our clients legal needs when they are injured in a car, truck or motorcycle accident.  Our clients job is to get better from the injuries that they suffered in these accidents.
